India to get it’s first high-speed underwater train

It looks like India is about to get a high-speed underwater train that will be ribbon running between Mumbai and Dubai. The high-speed underwater train will be the first project of its kind in both the Indian subcontinent as well as the United Arab Emirates.

If sources are to be believed then it is UAE that is looking to develop this network of the high-speed underwater train. According to a report of Khaleej Times, a Dubai based English newspaper, “UAE is looking to developing underwater rail network between Fujairah, UAE, and Mumbai, India. In near future, the resident of both nations might travel via undersea rail link”.

If the reports of the Khaleej Times are to be believed then it is a fact that a facilitation of goods and oil export through the pipeline is also something that the authorities are considering. “We plan to connect Indian city of Mumbai with Fujairah through ultra-speed floating trains. The project aims to boost bilateral trade. There will be an export of oil to India from Fujairah port and import of excess water from Narmada River in the north of Mumbai. In addition, other GCC partners can also improve export and import,” was the statement of Alshehhi who the founder of National Advisor Bureau Limited (NABL).

There is a distance of two thousand kilometres between the two cities and a high-speed underwater train can connect these two important global cities that centres of the economy as well as top tourist destinations.

India maintains intricate trade relations with the Gulf countries and had a huge population of its citizens living there. This brings the two nations very close and hence compatible for the high speed underwater train project. Other than the years of good relations that have been maintained with UAE, people are bound to give credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi under whose leadership this project is being proposed by the UAE government. Indeed it is his leadership that is guiding India forward towards receiving such gems.
